Lufthansa on strike from Monday
Sierra Leone News.Net Saturday 26th July, 2008
Lufthansa’s 50,000 plus ground staff and cabin crew will go on indefinite strike from Monday.
Germany’s Verdi trade union said almost 91% of their members had voted to go on strike over a pay claim.
The union has said the timing is not ideal for summer passengers and there will be major disruptions at the height of the holiday season.
To make it more difficult for management to respond, the union says not all workers will strike at the same time.
Verdi wants a 9.8% pay raise over a year while Lufthansa has offered 6.7% over 21 months.

@#$#ing unions
They “do not want to cause any harm to the passengers” but this is exactly what they are doing. I wish them to get fired as soon as possible, they deserved it.
