Panel Focuses on Preventing, Reducing Marine Pollution

The fourth of 10 panels discussions of the Conference will focus on “Preventing and significantly reducing marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities”.  It will be co-chaired Messouda Baham Mohamed Laghdaf, Minister for Environment of Mauritania and Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister for Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany.

The panellists will include:  Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme; Jessika Roswall, Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy of the European Commission; Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency;  Janis Searles Jones, CEO of the Ocean Conservancy; and Wendy Watson-Wright, Chair of the Joint Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environmental Protection.
