Replay: Macron speaks to FRANCE 24 as Africa Forward Summit wraps up

Around 30 African heads of state and government, along with more than 3,000 delegates, gathered in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi forthe two-day Africa Forward Summitat the invitation ofFranceandKenya.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesdayannounced23 billion in investmentsfor the continent from French and African actors, both private and public.

As French influence over its former colonies in West Africa and the Sahel declines, the president hailed the Nairobi summit as a chance showcase a new model of partnership with African nations a "partnership of equals".

Speaking after the summit, Macron took questions from FRANCE 24's Stphane Ballong, RFI's Mounia Daoudi (RFI) and TV5Monde's Nidhya Paliakara.
