CONAKRY, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Guinea has expressed its compassion and solidarity following terrorist attacks in several cities in Mali that left many dead, according to a government spokesperson's statement.

"It is with deep emotion and strong indignation that the government of the Republic of Guinea learned of the terrorist attacks that struck several cities of the Republic of Mali on Saturday, April 25, 2026, causing significant loss of life and numerous injuries," government spokesman Ousmane Gaoual Diallo said in a statement read on state television Monday.

"On behalf of the Guinean people and government, the Republic of Guinea extends its deepest condolences to the Malian people," he said.

At this time of pain and mourning for the Malian people, Diallo said, the Guinean government highlighted "the historical, fraternal and active solidarity ties that unite the Guinean and Malian peoples."

Guinea "also expresses a special tribute to the memory of Army Corps General Sadio Camara, minister of defense and veterans affairs, who fell in these tragic circumstances," he said.
